the swan at 45

today, i helped a swan find water from the road.

as i was driving home from the grocery store, just slowing down to turn into my road, there was a swan. it was waddling down the middle of the road as if it too were a car.

lots of people were swerving and honking, all avoiding hitting the swan.

i unloaded a few goods that need refrigerating then called animal control. they sent someone down and three of us coerced the savvy bird towards the lake across the street.

if you're ever trying to get a swan to move, approach it with a couple of trash can lids to make yourself look a lot bigger. that swan will move.
